Another Twins prospect tosses immaculate inning

Coming into August, nobody in the Minnesota Twins organization had thrown an immaculate inning — striking out all three batters in an inning on nine total pitches — since 2021. In the last three weeks, it’s now happened twice!

Tanner Hall, the Twins’ fourth-round pick in last year’s draft, accomplished the feat on Aug. 1 to break the drought . On Tuesday night, righty Jack Noble did it, also for the Single-A Ft. Myers Mighty Mussels.

Unlike Hall, Noble isn’t considered a top prospect. The Twins signed him as an undrafted free agent in the summer of 2022 out of Long Beach State.

The 24-year-old has primarily pitched at Single-A this season, posting a 4.83 ERA across 28 games (one start), with a .242 batting average against and 60 strikeouts over 50.1 innings for the Mighty Mussels. He’s also made brief appearances at High-A Cedar Rapids and Double-A Wichita in what is his second full season as a professional.

Who knows where his career will ultimately take him but only a very select group of pitchers can say they’ve thrown an immaculate inning as a professional, and Noble is now part of that group.
