Another Cowboys Trade Coming? Jerry Jones Hints

    By Mike Fisher,

There is no reason for the Dallas Cowboys to be "done'' when it comes to talent acquisition - at this moment, specifically in the defensive line.

Prior to last weekend's Cowboys’ preseason win at the Las Vegas Raiders, team owner Jerry Jones spoke to 105.3 The Fan and talked positively about what Dallas had just achieved in terms of gathering talent.

Dallas recently traded with the New York Giants for defensive tackle Jordan Phillips and signed defensive end Carl Lawson.

"Sometimes in the interior (defensive) line, you get a chance to do some things with other clubs right at the end of training camp, in that area,'' he said. "What you’re seeing right now is important. It’s important to see these guys take reps.

"But tonight won’t be the final pieces to the puzzle.''

What is the Cowboys boss hinting at?

Dallas’ projected starters at defensive tackle are Mazi Smith and Osa Odighizuwa, and now Phillips joins them as a 6-6, 350-pound nine-year vet who can rotate in at both spots.

Is that enough? Jerry seems to be teasing another trade, like Phillips.

We see an easier way, with another off-the-couch signing, like Lawson. ... in Linval Joseph.
