The Philadelphia Eagles have done things differently in training camp this season than they have done in recent years.

While most of their starting offense will not hit the field for preseason action, they have taken more reps in this month of work than they have from last season - a stark contrast when considering that the Eagles have normally opted for lighter practices overall.

Head coach Nick Sirianni - who many think is coaching for his job this season - explained why he altered the practice regimen this year.

"We've had a good training camp," Sirianni said. "Guys have worked hard, and competed well. I feel like we've gotten better. I just felt we had a good practice coming up today, so I think it's been good and guys have gotten better. It's been exciting."

Players like Darius Slay have said this season was the hardest training camp they had since coming to the Eagles in 2020.

It also helps that the team has a new offensive and defensive play-caller that put a higher emphasis on the starters getting as many reps as possible with their coaches and tendencies.

In that regard, it makes all the sense in the world that Sirianni and the Eagles would add further reps to their starting units.
