NFL icon Shannon Sharpe is a big fan of Caitlin Clark. That much is clear after his latest comments about the Indiana Fever rookie on his "Nightcap" podcast with Chad Johnson.

Before dropping his prediction that Clark will be the "all-time leader in assists when she's done with her career," Sharpe heaped praise on the greatness of the Fever guard and even went as far as to compare her to NBA superstars Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic.

According to Sharpe, even with people doubting her , Clark let her game do the talking to prove everyone wrong. That being said, she's much like Doncic and Jokic, who have received plenty of criticisms—particularly regarding their physical traits—but didn't let the negative buzz affect them and instead figured out how to dominate.

"She's elite, she's the pinnacle at passing the basketball," Sharpe shared. "...Great players, regardless of the sport, they figure it out. ... They said the same thing about Luka, oh he too slow, oh he can't play no defense. He can't jump. They said the same thing about Jokic, he fat, he out of shape."

That's certainly high praise coming from someone with Shannon Sharpe's stature. The Pro Football Hall of Famer knows what it means to dominate a sport, so it speaks volumes to see him speak highly of Caitlin Clark.

Furthermore, what Sharpe said has merit. In her rookie year, Clark is already leading the league in assists with 8.3 per game. She's also averaging 17.8 points, and she's doing so while still adjusting to competing at the top level. Clark's best weapon is her long-distance shooting, but she's only making 32.8 percent of her shots from deep in the 2024 campaign.

As Sharpe said, once Clark figures it out offensively, she'll be on her way to superstardom.
