He's not exactly the best trash-talker, though.

Following joint practice against the New York Giants that saw Gardner's Jets dominate on both sides of the ball, Gardner was asked specifically about Big Blue's starting quarterback in Daniel Jones.

Jones wasn't necessarily bad on Wednesday. He completed 13 of 19 passes overall, but the Giants failed to do much with the short passes he threw.

    Gardner knew it as well.

“He’s a good quarterback,” Gardner said, initially holding back his laughter. “It was very competitive, it was great. I had fun out there today. I don’t really know what to say."

Gardner's comments are interesting because it's one of the few times he's actually been somewhat against the grain when it comes to respecting opponents overall.

Unlike many other cornerbacks, Gardner hasn't been known as a trash-talker against opposing players.

Jones might be a special case, though.

Gardner was seen waving goodbye to the Giants after the Jets excelled in joint practice work in what seemed like a fiery overall practice. Jones may not have taken much of a shot overall against New York's defense, but it's clear that the unit itself wasn't overly impressed.
