Josh Allen Reveals 'Sad Truth' On Bills Finale

For all its glitz and glamour, the NFL is a business, and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen isn't looking forward to what will take place over the next week or so.

With the Bills currently preparing for their final preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, rookies, undrafted free agents, and everyone in between are in a battle to make a good impression.

Why? After the last preseason game, the Bills front office will begin roster cuts, trimming the 90-man roster down to 53, and Allen has revealed a sad truth regarding what's about to happen.

“I'm very invested in, I think, all my teammates and the sad truth is, throughout the entire league, this is the last game that some guys will ever play,” Allen said . “It's not a fun Sunday, Monday because obviously cuts happen, and you make that initial wave of cuts, and then the teams are looking at who else got cut. So it's not fun. I feel for the guys, and I love these guys, and hopefully, we can get a lot of them back. The reality is we can only keep 53 guys on this active roster but again we got guys that are working hard here each and every day trying to make the team.”

This is why so much is put into the three preseason games. Aside from practice in training camp, this is where players on the roster bubble will either help or hinder their chances of making the final roster.

Unfortunately, with so many cuts happening around the league, players will see their NFL dreams come to a screeching halt in the days following the third preseason game.

Of course, some will get re-signed by their team, and others will get picked up elsewhere, but some won't get that phone call, and the dream could be over.

The NFL is a business, and the dirty side of it is that so many players, like Allen stated, will play their last ever NFL game this weekend.

And that is the sad truth.
