Steelers vs. Lions Preseason Finale: How to Watch, Betting Odds

The Pittsburgh Steelers wrap up the 2024 preseason portion of their schedule this weekend with a road trip to Detroit to take on the Lions.

The No. 1 storyline in Pittsburgh this offseason is the battle for the starting job at quarterback. After completely turning over the room this offseason, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields have competed for the starting role for Week 1.

Wilson has dealt with a calf injury, allowing Fields to shine in the preseason, causing even more speculation that Russell may not have the job locked down as previously thought.

In Detroit, the Lions are coming off the most successful season they've seen in almost half a century after an appearance in the NFC Championship game last year.

Pittsburgh has dealt with some injuries this preseason, but not all are expected to linger into the regular season. The one exception is guard Nate Herbig, who was placed on IR earlier this week and is done for the season with a torn rotator cuff.

The Lions are dealing with their own injury issues, with linebacker Malik Jefferson and wideout Tre'Quan Smith both on the IR.

Most of the starters for the Lions are expected to sit out against the Steelers on Saturday, but if you believe Wilson, the starters for Pittsburgh will see the field.

"Yeah, we're playing," Wilson said via The Trib's Chris Adamski . "We're all playing. I'm excited to be back out on the field."
