Joel Klatt Locks In National Championship Prediction For 2024 College Football Season

College football broadcaster and analyst Joel Klatt issued his official national championship pick for the 2024 season on Thursday's episode of "The Joel Klatt Show ."

Like most pundits, Klatt pegged Ohio State and Georgia 1-2, with the Buckeyes taking the top overall seed. He also had them advancing to the title game without much resistance. However, in a bit of a twist, he had his 6-seed, Texas, upset Georgia to meet OSU in the championship.

There's a certain aspect of that matchup that would really have him excited.

"Yes guys, now in Mercedes down in Atlanta, Ohio State plays Texas," Klatt said. "Quinn Ewers gets to play Ohio State in the national championship game."

Ewers started his career at Ohio State but transferred away to Texas when it became clear CJ Stroud was the quarterback of the future. What a story it'd be if he came to meet his former club in the final game. If that happens, unfortunately for Ewers, Katt sees an OSU triumph.

"And because Texas let it all hang out (against Georgia), I just don't think that they have enough, and my national champion is going to be Ohio State," Klatt revealed.

"I had them as my No. 1 team in the preseason, I have them as my No. 1 seed in the playoff and I think that the Buckeyes will go on and win the national championship," he added.

That's a pretty strong trifecta for the Buckeyes. As every college football fan knows, expectations are on Mars for Ryan Day in 2024, and Joel Klatt is as bullish as anyone.
