On Tuesday, the Las Vegas Raiders got a massive boost, with arguably their best offensive lineman, Kolton Miller, returning to practice .

Miller has been an instant difference-maker since being drafted back in 2018. He's turned into one of the most reliable pieces on the Raiders' roster over the past six years, and at this point, he feels very comfortable with his game.

“It’s year seven,” Miller said after his second practice of the season. “As far as the sets and footwork, it all feels like riding a bike. So I feel good. Now it’s about just working in combinations together and working as a full unit.”

That's excellent news for the Raiders to hear. Miller was badly missed through the first two weeks of the preseason. During that time, the Raiders' offense was getting dominated their own defensive unit in practice, as well as their opponents during their first two preseason games.

The Raiders lost 24-23 to the Minnesota Vikings , and 27-12 to the Dallas Cowboys . During both games, there were times in which the offense struggled .

That's why it's such good news for the Raiders to be getting Miller back before their Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers in a little over two weeks.

“Obviously a lot to catch up on, but I’m feeling good,” Miller said. “It’s the most significant time off I’ve had and we have new stuff coming in, but I was able to take sets and it was just like before."

An offensive lineman's job might seem simple, but it can actually be pretty complex at times. Each offensive coordinator has different run and pass-blocking schemes, and Las Vegas as a whole is still trying to adjust to Luke Getsy's offense.

"Protection-wise, it’s not too crazy,” said Miller, who also stated he was a fan of Getsy's run-blocking schemes. "So it’s not too difficult to pick up. It’s digestible. I’m really liking it.”

Miller seems to be healthy and in good spirits, which is excellent news for the Raiders. They'll need him to be an anchor on the line once again for the offense to succeed in 2024.
