Tom Brady, the legendary NFL quarterback, has taken a creative approach by forming an imaginary football team using players from the 2024 Team USA men's basketball roster.

Brady was tasked with selecting a quarterback, tight end, running back, and two wide receivers from the basketball stars.

He chose Jayson Tatum, the Boston Celtics forward and recent NBA champion, as his quarterback. Tatum’s leadership skills and competitive spirit make him a fitting choice for this role.

For tight end, Brady picked Joel Embiid, the 2023 NBA MVP. Embiid’s versatility on both offense and defense aligns well with the tight end position, making him a valuable asset for Brady's fictional team.

Both Lakers All-Stars made the cut. Anthony Davis was initially considered for running back due to his height and athleticism, which would be beneficial for catching passes. However, Brady ultimately decided to keep him in that role, recognizing his all-around talent.

“I need two different types [of wide receivers]. I need a possession guy, and I need a down the field threat guy,” Brady said .

The final two spots were reserved for wide receivers. Initially, Brady thought LeBron James would excel as a tight end, but he quickly reassessed and placed James as one of the wide receivers, leveraging his speed and scoring ability.

“I think I can utilize him better [at wide receiver],” Brady said . “He’s got more downfield speed.”

The second wide receiver position went to Devin Booker, a four-time All-Star from the Phoenix Suns.

This imaginative exercise showcases the incredible athleticism and versatility of these NBA stars, highlighting how they could potentially excel in a different sport.
