Jahan Dotson's Old Tweet About Eagles Turns Heads After Trade

The Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders agreed to a " rare in-division trade " on Thursday, August 22, sending former first-round WR Jahan Dotson to the City of Brotherly Love in exchange for two draft picks.

The 24-year-old joins a star-studded Eagles offense featuring A.J. Brown, Devonta Smith, Dallas Goedert and newly signed Pro Bowl RB Saquon Barkley.

Shortly after the Eagles signed Barkley to a three-year, $37.7 million free agent deal in March, Dotson tweeted "Who's MUT team is this 😅" referring to the Madden Ultimate Team game mode that allows users to customize rosters with NFL legends and superstars.

Following Thursday's surprise trade, Dotson's old tweet was resurfaced by the official NFL account on X.

"Buddy probably crying tears of joy," one commenter wrote .

"Who tf they Finna have left to guard Dotson, even if he’s mid he’s such an upgrade over who was there😭," another fan added .

Dotson, who posted seven touchdowns in 10 starts as a rookie in 2022, enters his third season looking to improve on his career highs in receptions (49) and receiving yards (523).

Despite quarterback Jalen Hurts' rushing prowess, Philadelphia had three receivers — Brown (1,456), Smith (1,066) and Goedert (592) — top that mark in 2023.

Dotson was active on social media after being traded and even reposted Barkley's reaction.

"@JahanDotson let’s get it 😤😤#610" Barkley wrote to his fellow Penn State alumni.

Some of Dotson's former teammates didn't react so eagerly, however. Ex-Commanders defensive lineman Montez Sweat, now with the Chicago Bears, wrote "Neva personal just business."

Washington's fifth-year safety Kamren Curl was even more pointed.

"Ain’t no way they let 1 go" he wrote on X.
