Miguel Rojas was unexpectedly removed from the Dodgers' lineup just before their game against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday. The decision was made due to discomfort in his left hamstring, prompting manager Dave Roberts to give him a day off, especially with a scheduled off day following the game.

Fortunately, the injury is not severe, and Rojas is expected to return to the lineup for the upcoming series against the Tampa Bay Rays.

In Rojas' absence, Tommy Edman stepped in as the starting shortstop for the second consecutive night. Edman, acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals at the trade deadline, has quickly showcased his versatility. He has played in 3 games so far with the Dodgers and scored a double in his second game with the team.

Rojas has been a significant contributor to the Dodgers this season, showing strong performance at the plate with a .283 batting average, 19 doubles, 3 home runs, and 26 RBIs over 78 games. His leadership and experience have also been vital as the team navigates a competitive race for the National League West title, a situation they haven't faced since 2021.

As the Dodgers gear up for the final stretch of the season, Rojas' presence will be crucial in preparing the team for the playoffs. The upcoming weeks will test their resilience as they compete against the Padres and Diamondbacks for postseason positioning.
