AUG 22 DONATION! Brittany and Patrick Mahomes are important members of the Kansas City community. And they are important members of the Texas Tech community as well.

Patrick of course quarterbacked the Red Raiders from 2014-2016 before he made the leap to the NFL, going 10th in the 2017 NFL Draft ... one of the great picks of all time.

And now? Mahomes is giving back to one of the places where it all started. The couple is donating $5 million toward a Texas Tech football facilities project, the university announced Thursday afternoon.

AUG 6 CHARGERS PLAYOFF BOUND? The Los Angeles Chargers finished with a 5-12 record in 2023, and they hired Jim Harbaugh to be their next head coach to try and fix that problem.

In a recent article by Will Brinson of CBS Sports , he lists some NFL teams who could make a jump into the postseason this year.

One of the teams he mentions is the Chargers, as he thinks Harbaugh is the missing piece they have been looking for.The Chargers' new head coach has a reputation for winning, as he is a 188-71-2 as a head coach.

That leadership combined with the talent the Chargers have could lead the team to contend with the likes of the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.

AUG 6 LB SIGNED Darius Harris, the former Kansas City Chiefs backup, is making the move to the Dallas Cowboys.

Harris, 28, has contributed on and off with the Chiefs since going undrafted in 2019.The 6-2, 238-pounder figures as a camp body for Dallas at this time but does have enough experience - the Chiefs lifted him last winter from the Raiders practice squad so he was part of their run to the Super Bowl - to maybe help on special teams for the Cowboys.

AUG 6 NO CHRIS OR CLYDE Chris Jones (shoulder) and Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) are among the Chiefs who didn't work at camp on Tuesday.

“Chris Jones got a little tweak to his shoulder, stinger type thing, so he came out for a little bit," coach Andy Reid said before the absence.

And in CEH's case? Edwards-Helaire has recently shared details about about his struggles with PTSD, which is assumed to be his issue here.

Additionally, Kelvin Joseph (hamstring), Nick Bolton (elbow) and Jaaron Hayek (shoulder) didn’t practice for the Chiefs, while Derrick Nnadi was activated from PUP and was able to participate in today’s practice.

AUG 6 ONE MORE TACO? Taco Charlton, "over-drafted'' with the 28th pick back in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys, keeps trying to find a way to stick.

And now Taco - who has spend some time, on and off, as a Chiefs helper, is asking for something ..."Just need 1 more chance,''

Taco tweeted over the weekend. Most recently, Charlton, still just 29, was with the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL, and he finished this past season with six sacks and 14 total tackles. Can all of that mean one more chance for Taco?

JULY 31 WR MOVES Byron Pringle, who helped the Chiefs win a Super Bowl in 2019, is re-upping with Washington, as the Commanders made a move on Wednesday likely designed to help bolster their special teams.

That is where Pringle, 30, had his role there last year, as he played in all 17 games for Washington in 2023.While in Kansas City, though, in 2021, Pringle did put up some numbers when caught 42 passes for 568 yards with five touchdowns.

Pringle also earned himself a Super Bowl ring from his time with the Chiefs as part od the team in 2019.

JULY 30 BOWERS BREAKOUT INCOMING? The Las Vegas Raiders selected Georgia tight end Brock Bowers with the 13th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he could be primed for a breakout in his rookie season.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Alex Kay , he lists five tight ends that could be in the best position for a breakout season. One of the players he mentions is Bowers, as he thinks he could benefit from his team's new coaching staff.

The Raiders named Antonio Pierce as their full-time head coach after the team saw improvements when he was the interim, and he will be looking to utilize Bowers and the rest of his weapons to try and compete with the Kansas City Chiefs.

JULY 30 SWIFT POSTER IN SUITE The sports world was shocked to see Taylor Swift in a box in Arrowhead Stadium in the Kansas City Chiefs' Week 3 win against the Chicago Bears. She continued to come to games to support her partner, Travis Kelce. Now, courtesy of some pictures posted by a fan who got to tour Arrowhead, we get an inside look at some of the new decorations in Kelce's suite.

It's a little tough to make out at first, but there is a poster of Swift performing on one of the walls in the box that she always sits in. If that is any indication, then football fans and Swifties alike can expect to see her at more and more games this season.View the original post and pictures here .
