Justin Herbert and Quentin Johnston delivered impressive performances during the Los Angeles Chargers' recent practice session.

Herbert, returning from a plantar fascia injury, showcased his skills by throwing four consecutive touchdowns. He completed 25 of 29 passes, connecting with Joshua Palmer for two scores and also finding Derius Davis, Donald Parham Jr., and Johnston in the end zone per Chargers.com's Eric Smith .

His sharp play left teammates and coaches impressed, highlighting the impact of his return after missing two weeks.

"He's the elite of the elite, so it makes everybody better, it makes our offense function at a higher level, it makes our defense have to function at a higher level," defensive coordinator Jesse Minter said Tuesday.

"He is unbelievable," Minter added. "He is as good as it gets in this league ... I think he has a chance to have a magical year with what our coaches will do with him on offense."

Johnston, the Chargers' first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, also stood out. After facing criticism for a lackluster rookie season, he made a statement by catching a one-handed touchdown pass and consistently connecting with Herbert throughout practice.

With D.J. Chark sidelined, Johnston is seizing the opportunity to strengthen his rapport with the starting quarterback.

As the Chargers gear up for the upcoming season, the performances of Herbert and Johnston signal a promising outlook for the team's offense.
