Kansas City Chiefs ’ tight end Travis Kelce is striking while the iron is hot. He has one of the highest-rated podcasts around with his brother Jason. He’s dating the world’s biggest pop star in Taylor Swift. He’s hosting a new game show this fall, and now he’s been cast in a brand-new action comedy.

Kelce’s personality and charisma draw people to him. He’s outgoing, personable and funny. He will star in the new action comedy from Lionsgate studios entitled “Loose Cannons” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Here is a synopsis of the plot of the movie.

"The premise centers on how every police precinct, at least in this movie’s world, has a crazy, out of control, rule-breaking officer on staff. But rather than pair them with a straight arrow and by the book partner, the premise here is that unhinged person is paired with someone just as out of line as they are.

In Cannons, two loose cannons are forced to partner up after their precincts merge due to budget cuts and no one wants to work with them. The duo ends up taking on the cases no one else can."

No details of when filming would begin have been released, but with the dawn of the regular season upon us, we would bet filming would begin in March of next year.

This comes on the heels of the news that Kelce will have a small role in "Happy Gilmore 2'' starring Adam Sandler. In a recent appearance on Good Morning America, Kelce was asked if he was an actor now.

"I guess you can say that," Kelce said. "I've been on a few shows before. I've only played myself in those shows, though. Definitely different portraying a character and trying to find the emotion in everything, and understanding of the script and the scene.

"It's a challenge. I feel like an amateur right now. But I'm coachable. That's one thing I know from being in sports, I'm a coachable guy."
