Video of Flag Football QB 'Better' Than Patrick Mahomes Sets Internet Ablaze

Patrick Mahomes found himself in the middle of an unexpected saga on Wednesday after U.S. flag football quarterback Darrell Doucette made a head-turning comment.

"At the end of the day, I feel like I'm better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game," Doucette told TMZ Sports . "I know he's, right now, the best in the league. I know he's more accurate. I know he has all these intangibles. But when it comes to flag football, I feel like I know more than him."

The Kansas City Chiefs QB even responded to the claim on X with a 50 Cent GIF.

A day later on Thursday, August 22, a highlight video of Doucette throwing a touchdown is going viral on X, with over 3 million views in its first six hours.

The video was originally posted on Instagram on July 27 by the official U.S. National Football Team account.

After making such a bold claim, fans online were particularly interested in roasting Doucette's unique throwing motion.

"He throws like Joakim Noah shoots," one commenter wrote .

"Used every bit of his strength to throw a dead duck 10 yards," another said .

"Bros got a “Lonzo Ball jump shot” throwing motion," another added .

Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III even chimed in, albeit with a different highlight video in defense of the 35-year-old Doucette.

At least for the next couple of years, the debate will rage on about which quarterback could lead Team USA as flag football makes its debut at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
