On a recent episode of their podcast, "A Touch More," WNBA legend Sue Bird and Soccer legend Megan Rapinoe discussed Caitlin Clark and her impact on the Indiana Fever.

Bird, who retired from the WNBA in 2022, made it clear that she thinks Clark and the Fever will be a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs. When addressing the trajectory of Clark's career, the Seattle Storm legend revealed that she thinks Clark will continue to shatter records as she seemingly does every time she takes the court.

“What I’ve learned in my WNBA experience is pace of play trumps physicality, it trumps size, it can trump experience," Bird said . "What I see in Caitlin, what I see in Kelsey Mitchell, they’re just ramming it down people’s throats, and it's really hard, and it can have your head spinning.

"As I mentioned, Kelsey Mitchell's balling. Caitlin continuing to impress and just...she's going to break records nonstop for the next couple years," Bird said. It's just going to be a constant record break."

Clark has yet to play 30 games as a pro, but she has still found ways to constantly make history both on and off the court.

This past Sunday, against Bird's former squad, Clark broke the record for most assists by a first-year player. She also holds the record for most assists in a game with 19, and recorded the first triple-double by a rookie in the WNBA, among countless other statistical accolades.

Clark also made some All-Star history when playing against Team USA ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics. She and fellow rookie sensation Angel Reese became the first two rookies to start at the All-Star game since 2014.

Off the court, she has helped break viewership ratings records and merchandise sales records. According to Fanatics , she leads the league in merchandise sales, and their site has seen a 500% increase in merchandise sales overall compared to this time last season.

It obviously isn't all Clark, but she has certainly brought some well-deserved attention to the sport and is at the forefront of its growth in popularity.

Arguably, the craziest part about Clark's success thus far is she's just getting started.

She and the Fever (13-15) return to action on Saturday against the Minnesota Lynx (20-8). Clark's Fever are currently ranked No. 7 in the playoff standings and are within striking distance of passing the Phoenix Mercury.
