Head coaches in the NFL typically never join broadcast booths live while coaching.

However, the Minnesota Vikings' Kevin O'Connell will get an opportunity this weekend against the Philadelphia Eagles.

O'Connell will join the preseason radio and TV broadcast from the sidelines during the third quarter at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, the team announced.

The Vikings head coach has previously interrupted some interviews of players while live, including wide receiver Justin Jefferson and safety Harrison Smith.

O'Connell announced earlier Thursday after Jaren Hall will start the team's third and final preseason game under center with Matt Corral also expected to play.

Corral was signed last week to the team's roster and has yet to make an appearance for the purple and gold.

The Vikings open their regular season against the New York Giants in East Rutherford, N.J. on Sept. 8.
