The Carolina Panthers made a significant move on Thursday, bolstering their defense by signing rookie linebacker Aaron Beasley. Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 225 pounds, Beasley earned his spot on the roster following an impressive workout earlier in the day. Hailing from Franklin, Georgia, Beasley spent five years honing his skills at the University of Tennessee. During his college career, he played in 56 games, amassing 238 total tackles, including 32.5 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks. His ability to force turnovers was evident with four forced fumbles and an interception, alongside seven passes defensed.

Beasley’s addition to the Panthers' roster comes on the heels of the team’s decision to part ways with offensive lineman Badara Traore, who was waived with an injury designation to create space for the new linebacker. Traore had joined Carolina last December and contributed in their preseason opener against the New England Patriots.

The Panthers also executed a trade earlier in the day, sending rookie linebacker Michael Barrett to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for cornerback Michael Jackson. With Barrett now in Seattle, Beasley could see playing time in the Panthers' upcoming preseason finale.
