Since Derek Carr left the Raiders at the end of the 2022 season, the quarterback position has been a whirlwind.

Now the two will meet up again in week 17 on Dec. 29, when the Raiders play the Saints. While from the outside, this has been viewed as a revenge game for Carr, he would say differently.

"I got so many people on that team that you know, are some of my closest friends, if I some them right now we'd have a great time." Carr told Kay Adams on her show Up & Adams .

Don't get it twisted, Carr may have friends on the Raiders, but the NFL is still a results based league, and when Dec. 29, comes around Carr plans to deliver.

"Week 17 I'm trying to win you know, I'm definitely trying to win," Carr said. "I always root for the Raiders, but not that week."

Carr's time with the Raiders resulted in zero playoff wins, and only two playoff appearances, only one of which he was able to play in. Carr did leave his mark on the Raiders in another way, he leads the franchise in every major passing category.

During his 9 years with the team Carr racked up 35,222 yards, and 217 touchdowns, according to Pro Football Reference .

Come week 17 even if both teams are out of the playoffs, all Raiders fans will be watching the game getting to see who really won the divorce.
