WATCH: Chiefs vs. Bears, Chicago Takes Early 7-0 Lead on Bagent TD

As the Kansas City Chiefs close out their preseason schedule on Thursday night at GHEA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, the Chicago Bears struck first.

With No.1 overall Draft pick Caleb Williams getting the night off, quarterback Tyson Bagent led his team on a seven play, 73-yard touchdown drive to open the game. The series was highlighted by a 44-yard pass play from Bagent to receiver Nsimba Webster on 1st-and-10 from the Chicago 37-yard-line. The Chiefs were unable to keep the Bears out of the red zone, as Bagent scrambled to the right end for a five-yard scoring rush.

Accordingly, the Bears have taken a 7-0 lead on the Chiefs.

The Chiefs are about to embark on a journey which they hope will lead them to heights no team in the modern NFL era has previously been — a Super Bowl championship three-peat. As a three-time Super Bowl Champion (including three Super Bowl MVPs,) two-time NFL MVP and three-time All Pro, quarterback Patrick Mahomes has already had the career about which most athletes can only dream. At age 28, he is just entering the prime of his career. His top Target, tight end Travis Kelce is a nine-time Pro Bowler and a seven-time All-Pro with four first-team nods. The Chiefs have also upgraded their vertical passing game by adding rookie speedster Xavier Worthy.

Still, fans and media alike should give rightful credit to coordinator Steve Spagnoulo’s defense, whose blitz-heavy schemes have helped defensive tackle Chris Jones and cornerback Trent McDuffie thrive.
