The Philadelphia Eagles are riding high after acquiring former first-round pick Jahan Dotson from the Washington Commanders.

No one is more pleased about the move than new running back Saquon Barkley. The former second-overall pick was a Penn State product just like Dotson and that college connection suits both players well into 2024.

" @JahanDotson let’s get it #610," Barkley said in a tweet immediately following the trade.

Dotson has recorded a combined 1,000 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns in his first two seasons in the NFL after a successful college career as an offensive weapon and return specialist.

It's unclear if Philadelphia is willing to let Dotson get some reps with the new kickoff rules, but it would make sense for all parties to try and keep the former first-round pick as involved as possible for the upcoming season.

Especially when you account for the fact that the team simply won't be able to give Dotson many touches to begin with.

With top playmakers in A.J. Brown, Devonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and Barkley, there will be slim pickings for Dotson to make his mark on the season in Philadelphia.

That won't stop Barkley or other members of the team from getting excited over the latest trade.
