At this point, every Kentucky football fan knows about Deone Walker and what he is capable of after his monster sophomore season last year. He's looking to build on his All-SEC season by backing that up with an All-American season in 2024. Not only is Deone himself wanting big things out of him, but so is Defensive Coordinator Brad White.

White says he is looking for Walker to just be dominant this season after an impressive performance last year. "I want to see what everybody wants to see. We want to see a dominant defensive lineman," White told media on Thursday. "We want to see a guy that can absolutely alter a game, change an offense, how they plan to attack us. I think he's ready to do that. He's been dialed in. ...We'll just let him play, but he's in a good spot, I'll tell you that."

It doesn't just stop with Deone. That goes for all of the elite caliber players on the defense. "The bottom line is, ...you've got twelve games. You need your elite players to play like elite players," White said. "If you wanna be an elite defense, those guys show up, and they lead from the front and that's where we need it." Just how much havoc just big Deone Walker cause for opposing offenses? "He causes all kinds of issues. He can eliminate parts of the field that offenses can attack. So, that's why it's so vital for him to play at the level we need him to play."

Kentucky's defense is going to talented and experienced this season, and it all starts up front.
