Commanders' Dan Quinn Explains Dyami Brown Over Jahan Dotson

The Washington Commanders traded away receiver Jahan Dotson to the Philadelphia Eagles , but a couple of days ago, head coach Dan Quinn might have given us a little nugget of information about the state of Washington's receiver room.

With Dotson in a battle with Dyami Brown, Olamide Zaccheaus, Luke McCaffrey, and Jamison Crowder, Brown stood out from the pack.

Head coach Dan Quinn revealed the moment when Brown, who is entering his fourth NFL season, got his attention in training camp.

"I thought you've seen some big plays from Dyami through this training camp," Quinn said . "There's actually some in the spring that got my attention, to say, 'Okay what's there?' And his ability to get on top of people and stay. He's got size, he's got length, so there's actually a good play in the one-on-ones that transferred into the game to go."

While making plays in training is good, making them in the preseason games is far better, and Brown did just that.

Against the New York Jets in game one, he totaled 55 yards from two receptions and backed that up against the Miami Dolphins in game two with 19 yards from three receptions as Jayden Daniels looked his way early and often.

With Brown never having more than 12 receptions and 168 yards in any of his three seasons, maybe the penny has finally dropped for the former third-round pick.

Due to Dotson's trading, Brown is expected to assume a role near the top of the depth chart for Kliff Kingsbury in 2024.

He hasn't shown to be a consistent player in the regular season in his first three seasons, but are the winds of change blowing?

For the Commandeers and Brown, they sure hope so.
