The 2024 college football season begins with Florida State and Georgia Tech facing off in Dublin, Ireland, in an ACC showdown.

It's the first-ever overseas game for the Seminoles, although Georgia Tech defeated Boston College in Ireland in 2016.

As you'd expect, plenty of big names are expected to be on hand for the game, and the Seminoles are trying to start the year strong after being snubbed out of the College Football Playoff.

On Friday, the Seminoles held one last practice before the game, and they had a special guest: Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban. The legendary coach was spotted watching with a typical Saban look on his face.

Fans made sure to take note of Saban's appearance at the practice. Some even mentioned that Saban's former players were on hand.

"My whole second string here," said one fan. Another said, "Mike said he got enough of their previous players he wants the coach." One more stated, "Most of FSU’s team were Bama backups."

After Saban's retirement, five Alabama players made the move to Florida State in the transfer portal, including Roydell Williams, Terrence Ferguson and Malik Benson.

Other fans brought up the Mike Norvell bit. When Saban retired, Norvell's name floated as a replacement.

'"So this is the guy that was supposed to replace me huh? I like what I’m seeing” - Saban,' said a fan on X. Another wrote, "They really think Alabama would replace me with this guy..?"

"The man just loves the game, and of course he can check on his former players," a fan mentioned.

The photo of Saban watching Florida State's practice already had 650,000 views just a few hours after being posted.

Of course, Saban is part of the "College GameDay" crew and will be providing analysis during the season since he is now retired from coaching.

However, it will take some getting used to seeing him on the sidelines without bearing the responsibilities of a head coach.
