Nick Saban Makes Stance On First Game Of College Football Season Clear As Day

The start of the 2024 college football season is right around the corner, and for the first time since 2006, Nick Saban won't be the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Saban opted to retire from coaching after the 2023 campaign and transition into the world of sports media, as he will be appearing on College GameDay throughout the 2024 season.

As a result of all his success with Alabama, it's safe to say fans are going to be hanging on every word Saban says. When discussing the first of the college football season, Saban explained why the start of the new campaign is so important for every team.

Typically speaking, many of the good teams across the nation aren't playing competitive games until later in the year, which leads to many folks thinking they don't exactly mean much.

The former coach Saban unsurprisingly disagreed with that notion, saying that the first game is the first time for teams to prove whether the expectations and projections surrounding them are accurate or need to be readjusted.

And with games set to get underway on Saturday, teams across the nation will be able to begin writing the story for their newest season, and there's no doubt that Saban and college football fans everywhere are looking forward to it.
