Noah Lyles may consider himself the "fastest man in the world," but there's actually a race against Tyree Hill where the odds are stacked against him.

For those not in the know, Lyles and the Miami Dolphins wide receiver are in the middle of an online beef. It all started when Hill called out the Olympic gold medalist for criticizing the NBA and told him to just stick to what he knows.

Hill then went on to claim that he'd beat Lyles in a race, later on challenging the USA sprint star to a 50-yard battle. However, Lyles has since responded and argued that if the NFL superstar wants to really challenge an Olympic champion, he should do it in his event.

Lyles won gold in the 100-meter race of the 2024 Olympics.

Interestingly, there might be a reason why Hill wants to face Lyles in a 50-yard race over a 100m sprint. According to the odds presented by Action Network, the Dolphins wideout (+300) has a slight edge over Lyles (+100) in the 50-yard race.

In justifying the reasoning for that, Action Network explained that "Hill is renowned for his explosive speed and acceleration over short distances, which is critical in football. His training emphasizes quick bursts of speed, agility and acceleration, making him particularly strong in short sprints."

As for Lyles, since his focus is on longer 100m and 200m sprints, his training has been more about "maintaining speed than in short burst acceleration." That said, he usually doesn't reach his maximum speed until after 50 yards.

For what it's worth, in a 100m race, the odds favor Noah Lyles (-200) over Tyreek Hill (+120), which is definitely not surprising. Again, this is the 100m champion we're talking about.

It remains to be seen if Hill and Lyles will actually end up racing against each other, but it's worth noting that the latter has already stated his conditions for it to happen.
