Should Brandon Beane Be On Hot Seat For Bills?

Since being hired for the role in 2017, Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane has seen a near 20-year playoff drought end, and a star be born in quarterback Josh Allen.

Along the way, Beane's roster has won the last four division titles, posted five playoff wins, and just one losing season.

Despite all the recent success, Buffalo enters 2024 as a team in a major transition. For starters, the organization, due to cap constraints, had to let go of several notable veterans including Jordan Poyer, Micah Hyde, and Stefon Diggs.

To replace those vets, the Bills focused on cheaper and younger options across the board. Draftees like Cole Bishop and Keon Coleman joined the likes of veteran deals such as Curtis Samuel, Nicholas Morrow, and Casey Toohill.

The issue? Most of the names listed have gotten hurt to start the season before Week 1 even kicks off.

Beane cannot be criticized for players being hurt, but it's fair to point out that while Sean McDermott remains on the hot seat for the 2024 season, Beane has not provided him with a fair roster that would get the most out of the coach's tutelage.

It's why Beane's poor contracts over the years have actually hurt the team in the present than anything else McDermott has done poorly.

It is also why Buffalo's general manager should be on the hot seat just as much as it's head coach.
