The Chicago Sky are currently in Connecticut, set to play against the Sun on Friday, where a few players will have the chance to go head-to-head against their former team.

One of those players is Sun guard Marina Mabrey, who was traded from the Chicago Sky on July 17 for Connecticut guards Rachel Banham and Moriah Jefferson.

Before Chicago's matchup against the Sun, a couple of Sky players took the court to warm up.

A few reporters were in attendance to watch warmups and team practice. During their time at the stadium, reporters caught a video of Sky players passing Mabrey, who was by the Sun bench, with many thinking they were clearly ignoring their ex-teammate.

Some players who passed by Mabrey without greeting the veteran guard include Kamilla Cardoso, Angel Reese, and Chennedy Carter.

Mabrey spent a seasonal and a half within the Chicago Sky, beginning her stint with the team in 2023 and then being traded from the organization midway through the 2024 season.

During her 2024 campaign, the 5-foot-11 guard has averaged 13.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.

While the reasoning for the Sky ignoring Mabrey is unclear, her recent quote may add some much-needed details.

The WNBA veteran recently spoke about her opportunity with the Sun, the league's No. 2 team, with a 20-7 record.

Mabrey threw a subtle shot at the Sky, mentioning that she's happy to be with Connecticut since she has the opportunity to compete for a WNBA title while explaining that she's never been in an atmosphere that's so disciplined.

"Being a part of a team like this that is so disciplined with a championship mindset, I haven't been a part of that yet," Mabrey said.

This may be connected to Chicago's actions before the Sky-Sun matchup, but only time will tell how the team interacts with Mabrey during and after their matchup.
