Cowboys' Steele 'Super Impressed' WIth Rookie O-Line Duo

    By Adam Schultz,

Much of the focus for the Dallas Cowboys in training camp was how the offensive line, with two rookies would develop over the four weeks in Oxnard.

Well, as the Cowboys head back to The Star, left tackle Tyler Guyton and center Coope Beebe leave Oxnard with the starting roles firmly in their grasp.

With both impressing not only in practice but also in Dallas' two preseason games, it appears that Dallas' knack for drafting talented offensive linemen has continued for another season.

Such has been the duo's level of improvement in Oxnard, right tackle Terence Steele has been left in awe of how each goes about their business.

“Super impressed with both of them,” Steele said. “Just their willingness to come in wanting to learn, no ego, just wanting to get better every day. They're picking our brains, me, Zack [Martin], all the vets, just asking us what our routine is, just any way that can help them [be] successful. They're just soaking it in like a sponge, so I couldn't be more impressed with how those two came in, and they're going to obviously play a huge role in our offense going forward.”

Of course, there was angst over the state of the offensive line after Tyron Smith (Jets) and Tyler Biadasz (Commanders) left in the offseason, and many doubts over how Dak Prescott's protection would look in 2024.

Well, there's no such angst anymore. There's an air of confidence, and that is down to how Guyton and Beebe have dominated the offseason.

Now, it is only preseason, so every player in the warm Oxnard sun looks like a Pro Bowler, but Guyton and Beebe have stacked good days on top of good days to the point where there's little worry about how the duo will fair in Week 1.

And that, my friends, is an impressive feat for two rookies.
