On Saturday, ESPN's "College GameDay" made its 2024 debut with the first-ever show outside of the United States for the week zero game between the No. 10 Florida State Seminoles and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Dublin, Ireland.

Former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban made his first appearance on the show as an analyst, joining Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis, Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee.

Saban joined the "College GameDay" crew after announcing his retirement from coaching back in January. He spent 17 seasons with Alabama, winning 201 games with the team, the second-most in school history behind Bear Bryant, who won 232 games.

Saban brings a level of expertise to "College GameDay" that no other analyst has, being the only member of the crew with coaching experience of any kind.

College football fans loved Saban's introduction on the show, with some saying his hiring was the best decision ESPN has made in a long time. They took to social media to leave their thoughts.

"Me on Saturday morning when I see Nick Saban on College GameDay"

"As if it even needs to be said, but Nick Saban & Pat McAfee on College Gameday is two of the best decisions ESPN has made in the last decade"

"ESPN’s Nick Saban in just under an hour has already proven that he’s hands down the best hire of any of the college football pregame shows. His knowledge, self deprecating humor, chemistry with Gameday crew clearly continues to study every team is quite evident. Home run hire"

"Nick Saban on C ollege GameDay. INCREDIBLE Full Time addition if he is there each week. WOW"

"Nick Saban was a great addition to College Gameday"

"Nick Saban on College Gameday is fire."

Prior to joining the Crimson Tide, Saban spent time coaching the Michigan State Spartans, LSU Tigers and the Miami Dolphins in the NFL.

In 28 total seasons as a college football coach, Saban won seven national championships, 12 conference championships (11 SEC) and 19 bowl games. He finished his career with an overall college record of 292-71-1, giving him the sixth-most wins in college football history as a head coach.
