Alabama head coach Nick Saban revealed his SEC champion as well as the teams he believes are the top two in the sport to begin the 2024 season

Saturday's Week 0 edition of "College GameDay" rang in the new season and as part of the opening game festivities, the crew dished out some season-long predictions. In particular, Nick Saban feels strongly about on team from the SEC and one from the Big Ten who are a step above the rest.

"Somebody has got to beat Georgia," Saban said over and over again about the Dawgs.

He just loves them in the SEC. But when pushed for a prediction on who they'd face, Desmond Howard commented he'd have Georgia in the national title facing Oregon. Saban agreed.

"I think that's the top two teams, Oregon and Georgia," he commented.

That's a somewhat bold take by Nick Saban, since it's actually been Ohio State and Georgia as the two teams considered head and shoulders above the rest. The Buckeyes return a slew of stars on both sides of the ball and even added a couple of key transfers to build arguably the best roster in college football.

Alas, Nick Saban loves what Dan Lanning is building in Eugene and believes his Ducks are positioned to make a deep playoff run this winter.
