The San Francisco 49ers are finalizing their roster as they prepare for the upcoming regular season. With their first game against the New York Jets on September 9, the team must trim their roster from 90 players to 53 by Tuesday at 1:00 PM Pacific Time. Expect some roster cuts to emerge in the lead-up to the deadline.

Here’s a look at the projected 53-man roster after the final preseason game:

    Quarterbacks (3)

    - Brock Purdy

    - Brandon Allen

    - Joshua Dobbs

The 49ers will likely keep all three quarterbacks, as both Allen and Dobbs performed well enough to secure their spots.

    Running Backs (4)

    - Christian McCaffrey

    - Elijah Mitchell

    - Jordan Mason

    - Isaac Guerendo

Guerendo replaces undrafted rookie Cody Schrader. If the team decides to trade Mitchell, both he and Mason could make the final roster. Both Schrader and Guerendo are expected to contribute on special teams.

    Fullback (1)

    - Kyle Juszczyk

No changes here; Juszczyk remains the only fullback.

    Wide Receivers (6)

    - Brandon Aiyuk

    - Deebo Samuel

    - Jauan Jennings

    - Chris Conley

    - Ricky Pearsall

    - Jacob Cowing

Cowing has solidified his spot with a strong performance in the last game. Pearsall’s shoulder injury makes Conley a more reliable choice over Ronnie Bell.

    Tight Ends (4)

    - George Kittle

    - Brayden Willis

    - Jake Tonges

The team is likely to keep three tight ends, with Saubert as a potential addition if they can get him on the practice squad.

    Offensive Line (8)

    - Trent Williams

    - Colton McKivitz

    - Jake Brendel

    - Dominick Puni

    - Aaron Banks

    - Spencer Burford

    - Jaylon Moore

    - Nick Zakelj

Jon Feliciano's injury will place him on IR. Williams is expected to resolve his contract situation before the cut deadline.

    Defensive Line (8)

    - Nick Bosa

    - Leonard Floyd

    - Javon Hargrave

    - Maliek Collins

    - Yetur Gross-Matos

    - Robert Beal Jr.

    - Jordan Elliott

    - Kevin Givens

No changes here, but injuries to Gross-Matos and Floyd could impact the defensive front.

    Linebackers (6)

    - Fred Warner

    - De’Vondre Campbell

    - Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles

    - Dee Winters

    - Jalen Graham

    - Tatum Bethune

Curtis Robinson is likely to be cut but could be placed on the practice squad.

    Cornerbacks (6)

    - Charvarius Ward

    - Deommodore Lenoir

    - Renardo Green

    - Samuel Womack

    - Isaac Yiadom

    - Rock Ya-Sin

Ya-Sin’s playing time in the last game suggests he will make the roster, while Womack outperformed Luter.

    Safeties (4)

    - Talanoa Hufanga

    - Ji’Ayir Brown

    - George Odum

    - Malik Mustapha

Hufanga's status remains uncertain as he has not yet been activated from the PUP list. If he is not activated, the team may keep an extra offensive lineman.

    Specialists (3)

    - K Jake Moody

    - P Mitch Wishnowsky

    - LS Taybor Pepper

    This group remains unchanged.

As the 49ers finalize their roster, fans will be eager to see how these decisions play out as they head into the new season.
