The Los Angeles Chargers are gearing up for a fresh start this season, aiming to turn around their recent struggles.

With new head coach Jim Harbaugh at the helm, there’s optimism that the team will enhance its defense, improve pass protection, and strengthen the running game.

However, the most crucial factor for the Chargers' success is the health of their franchise quarterback, Justin Herbert .

Herbert faced a challenging 2023 season, battling injuries that hindered his performance.

Despite these setbacks, he demonstrated resilience, notably playing through a broken rib cartilage in a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Unfortunately, he also suffered a fracture in his throwing hand, which cut his season short.

After undergoing surgery to repair his finger, Herbert was diagnosed with a plantar fascia injury in his right foot, requiring him to wear a boot for two weeks.

The Chargers' medical team expressed confidence that he would be ready for the start of the regular season.

The Chargers medical staff released a statement on Herbert's injury.

“Doctors have recommended approximately two weeks in a boot — followed by a graduated return to play protocol — with the expectation that he will be ready for the start of the regular season.”

Recently, Fouts relayed positive news about Herbert's recovery, indicating that his foot has healed completely.

“He told me last night that his right foot has healed completely and is no longer an issue.”

This development is a relief for Chargers fans, as it means Herbert will be fully healthy when the season kicks off, marking the beginning of the Harbaugh era in Los Angeles.

As the Chargers prepare for the upcoming season, the focus will be on maximizing Herbert's potential and ensuring he can lead the team effectively.
