    'Extremely Efficient!' Baker on Buccaneers

Someone forgot to tell the Tampa Bay Buccaneers first-team offense that it was only a preseason game against the Miami Dolphins because Baker Mayfield and Co. came out breathing fire in what would end up being a 24-14 win.

With the Buccaneers taking the ball first, they dog-walked the Dolphins' defense, doing as they pleased, en route to a seven-play touchdown drive.

Mayfield would go 3/3 for 54 yards which included a 28-yard dime to rookie Jalen McMillan. But the run game was just as potent with Rachaad White the beneficiary of good movement from the offensive line, totaling four carries for 16 yards and a touchdown.

For Baker, he gave his thoughts on why the offense was so clean and crisp on that first drive.

“Extremely efficient," Mayfield said . "It's that's crucial our guys were locked in exactly what the coaches asked of them and yeah that's something that I think ready to go. But it was attention to detail focus on the little things and he [Liam Coen] asked for us to be really physical and I think everybody was.”

Much has been made of offensive coordinator Coen's system this offseason, with a lot of moving parts, especially for Mayfield at the line of scrimmage.

Now tasked with checking in and out of plays as he sees fit, Mayfield has more responsibility, and if the first drive against Miami is anything to go by when Coen's offense clicks, it looks superb.

Of course, it is only preseason, so we tap the brakes on crowning Tampa Bay as anything just yet, but it was an extremely positive drive that will fill the offense with confidence heading into their Week 1 clash against the Washington Commanders.
