ESPN Updates Top 25 College Football Rankings After Opening Weekend

ESPN has officially updated its Top 25 FPI rankings following the Week Zero slate.

The college football season kicked off with a bang when the No. 10 Florida State Seminoles were knocked off by the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 24-21.

Florida State and Georgia Tech were playing overseas in Dublin, Ireland, with the ESPN College GameDay crew following their match. It was a back-and-forth game that was ultimately decided by GT's dominance in the trenches.

The Yellow Jackets kicker, Aidan Birr, turned into a Georgia Tech legend, punching in a 44-yard game-winning field goal to send the Seminoles home with a 0-1 record.

Georgia Tech's win over the Seminoles stirred up the rankings, with Florida State dropping from No. 10 to No. 16 in the ESPN FPI rankings.

A couple of other games on the Week Zero Saturday slate included a Montana State victory over New Mexico, SMU win over Nevada, and Hawaii taking down Delaware State.
