In a post on social media , the Chargers announced that at about 7:30 p.m. CT, Dallas Fire-Rescue assisted the people on the elevator "one-by-one" through a ceiling panel in the inoperable elevator - stuck in a "blind shaft,'' per DFR - to an adjacent elevator.

"The Los Angeles Chargers thank Dallas Fire-Rescue for their quick response, professionalism and substantial efforts ensuring everyone's safety," the team said.

Here's how it looked from inside ...

WFAA.com reported that the "blind shaft" setup occurred between the third and 15th floors of The Westin hotel in downtown Dallas.

Once all were safe, Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh invited all the Dallas Fire-Rescue staff to the team meal room for dinner.

Said Harbaugh later: "You get in those situations, and it's a test of wills. ... That's a win. You feel good about yourself. You were challenged. ...

"And it was hot. As each person came off the elevator, sweating and some had the shirt off. Justin Herbert, his hair was a little wet. But his shirt was completely dry. That was another thing that blew me away. ... Justin Herbert's a leader. He was a rock. Kept everybody calm. And everybody kept their poise."

The Cowboys played host to the Chargers at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, with the visitors recording the win.

Dallas opens its regular season at Cleveland on Sept. 8, with the Chargers also opening that day against the visiting Raiders.
