The Las Vegas Aces traveled to Chicago to take on the Sky on Sunday. Prior to their matchup, the season series was tied at 1-1.

A back-and-forth game on Sunday ended in a 77-75 Las Vegas victory after MVP frontrunner A'ja Wilson connected on a game-winning layup with 1.1 seconds remaining on the clock.

Wilson had the Aces bench roaring after her "ice cold" finish. They were on their feet, cheering on the talented center, but just seconds before, the entire Sky stadium was celebrating a three-pointer from Chennedy Carter.

Before Wilson made the shot to win the game, Carter made a crucial shot from beyond the arc that tied the game at 75. With little time left on the shot clock, it seemed the game was headed to overtime, but Becky Hammon and the Aces drew up a masterful play for Wilson.

Aces point guard Chelsea Gray was taking the ball out of bounds. Jackie Young was used as a distraction piece at the top of the key.

The actual play from the whiteboard was happening inside the paint. Kelsey Plum set a strong off-ball screen on Angel Reese, leaving Wilson open for a layup on the left side of the basket. Gray tossed the ball up to the 6-foot-4 center, and she connected with the game-winning shot.

Wilson finished the game with 20 points and 18 rebounds, shooting 28.6% from the field. Despite her splits, which seem like successes to the naked eye, Chicago's defense was giving Wilson trouble all afternoon.

A'ja Wilson's season average was set at 26.8 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.

She's usually a very efficient player, but the Sky game planned around double-teaming Wilson and making it difficult to face up toward the rim when she entered the painted area.
