The SEC football schedule will kickoff this Thursday and there are some big matchups and storylines to follow.

    • Can Billy Napier and the Florida Gators start off hot against the Miami Hurricanes in The Swamp? If not, is it obvious that Napier will be fired before the end of the 2024 football season?
    • Georgia’s Kirby Smart should have a motivated team after being left out of the 2023 College Football Playoff. With quarterback Carson Beck leading the Bulldogs against the Clemson Tigers, it’s arguably the best matchup for the entire weekend.
    • How good will sophomore quarterback Nico Iamaleava be? The Tennessee signal-caller has so much talent and people are anxious to see him start for the Vols.
    • Of course, anything that SEC newcomers Oklahoma and Texas do will be news. The Horns appear to have a shot to make the Playoff as well.
    • Auburn needs to prove it's a much-improved offense versus Alabama A&M and all eyes will be on the Tigers’ passing game. Will freshman receiver Cam Coleman make an instant impact on the Plains?
    • Alabama brings in former Washington coach Kalen DeBoer to replace Nick Saban . While an unenviable task, he’s taking over a deep roster, especially within the front seven of the defense.
    • It’s also Mike Elko’s first game as Texas A&M’s head coach and it’s against a school he used to be the defensive coordinator, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. That’s another interesting matchup with lots of NFL talent playing for both sides.
