There are a few more question marks at wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs heading into the season, but now they have signed a veteran presence to help.

Per a report by NFL Insider Jordan Schultz , the reigning Super Bowl champions are signing veteran receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who was recently cut by the New England Patriots.

The Chiefs are reuniting with the wide out, as he played for them just two seasons ago in 2022, when he helped them win their second Super Bowl in three seasons. Some may say that he is past his prime, but he played very well when he had Mahomes throwing him the ball.

He finished his 2022 campaign with 933 receiving yards and three touchdowns, as he was the WR1 for that championship team. Superstar tight end Travis Kelce obviously led the team in yards, but Smith-Schuster was Mahomes' go-to target outside of him.

The team's new receiver, Marquise Brown went down with a shoulder injury in Week 1 of the preseason against the Jacksonville Jaguars, so this signing will help take some of the pressure off of everyone else. The team will not have to rely on rookie Xavier Worthy as much as they thought they would, which may be best for him, as that would be throwing him in to the deep end immediately.

Now, the team has a calming veteran presence in the receiving corps, and he will be looking to help the team win their third straight Super Bowl
