Three of the newest Minnesota Twins prospects had a big day on Sunday, helping Single-A Ft. Myers get an extra-innings win.

Shortstop Kyle DeBarge, the 33rd overall pick in last month’s draft, hit a huge two-run triple in the top of the 10th to give the Mighty Mussels the lead.

Third baseman Billy Amick, Minnesota’s second-round pick in the 2024 draft, also drove in two runs on Sunday on a pair of hits, and catcher/outfielder Khadim Diaw, the Twins’ recent third-round pick, had three hits and an RBI.

All three had at least one extra-base hit.

Meanwhile, Minnesota’s 2023 second-rounder, Brandon Winokur, also had three hits — including a double and triple — and two RBI.

Other 2024 draft picks, including Jaime Ferrer, Jay Thomason and Derek Bender also appeared in the game, totaling three runs but zero hits. Still, they’ve all flashed some early success in their young pro careers, and Ferrer and Bender each sport an OPS above .750.
