While the New York Giants get ready to sail into the season with a rookie receiver, their NFC East rival just got great news about their veteran.

After missing all of training camp and the team's three preseason games, Dallas Cowboys ' All-Pro receiver CeeDee Lamb signed a four-year, $136 million contract Monday afternoon. The deal includes $100 million guaranteed, and a receiver-record $38 million signing bonus.

Meanwhile, Malik Nabers is set to make his NFL debut for the Giants Sept. 8 against the Minnesota Vikings. New York only hopes Nabers soars to the heights of Lamb.

The Cowboys' star is coming off one of the best receiving seasons in league history in 2023, when he caught 135 passes for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. How important is Lamb to the defending NFC East champs?

The next-closest receiver in terms of yardage was tight end Jake Ferguson with 761. That was the largest gap between a team-leader in receiving yards and the next-closest teammate by over 200 yards.

Lamb torched the Giants last season as the Cowboys won the two meetings by a combined gaudy score of 89-17. In Dallas' wins he caught 15 passes for 228 yards and a touchdown.

The Giants host the Cowboys in Week 4 before traveling to Arlington on Thanksgiving Day to begin Week 13.

Lamb becomes the 11th receiver this offseason to sign a lucrative contract, joining:
