Craig Carton on 2024 Jets: 'They Have Best Roster in Football'

When Aaron Rodgers takes the field for the New York Jets in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers, he will try to do something no quarterback in franchise history has done for the last 13 years.

Lead the Jets to the playoffs.

While many analysts believe that the team is good enough to end that playoff drought, some have even begun to compare Gang Green's roster with some of the best in the NFL.

"The New York Jets have the best roster in football," FS1 host Craig Carton said. "Let's not forget when Aaron Rodgers is at quarterback, and his defense gives up 20 points or less, he is 81-10. It's not up for debate. This defense will be the best one Aaron Rodgers has ever had."

Carton's point on the new FS1 show "Breakfast Ball" may have come with some healthy debate, but the long-time radio and tv host isn't necessarily wrong in his breakdown.

Few rosters in sports have the kind of All-Pro talent that the Jets have at every position. They also have an elite defense to go along with a top quarterback in the game - something not always at Rodgers' disposal throughout his career.

If the defense stays elite and the Jets are able to have Rodgers for a full season, there's little reason to think New York couldn't be the best team in the NFL in 2024.
