Philadelphia Eagles Released Former West Virginia Quarterback On Monday

Roster cuts are taking place all across the NFL, and on Monday afternoon, the Philadelphia Eagles made a big decision on former star West Virginia quarterback Will Grier.

Grier enjoyed two strong campaigns with the Mountaineers in 2017 and 2018 before he declared for the 2019 NFL Draft, where he ended up getting selected by the Carolina Panthers.

Unfortunately, he hasn't enjoyed much success in the NFL, as the Eagles are already the sixth team he's spent time with in his career. And his time in Philly ended up getting cut short on Monday, as the Eagles opted to release Grier as part of their roster cuts.

With Jalen Hurts, Kenny Pickett, and Tanner McKee in front of him on the depth chart, Grier always faced long odds to make the roster, and he is back on the free agent market looking for a new team to sign him.

Of course, he could find his way onto the Eagles practice squad, but they will likely look to stash younger prospects there before pivoting back to Grier.

This is the latest in the long list of tough blows Grier's NFL career has endured, and it will be worth keeping an eye on him over the next few days to see if he can land with a new team.
