Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is one of the most popular players in college football for the 2024 season.

There's a spotlight on any starting signal-caller in Austin because Texas is one of the premier programs in the country that demands excellence. Ewers has impressively heightened that hype more than usual for a variety of reasons.

Not only did Ewers lead his team to a Big 12 Championship and the programs first-ever College Football Playoff last season, he's one of three players on the cover of EA Sports College Football 25, named to several prestigious preseason watch lists, and widely viewed as a Heisman Trophy contender.

The sky is the limit for what Ewers and his team can accomplish on the field this season. Off the field, Ewers is enjoying numerous NIL opportunities. His latest work is a Dr. Pepper 'Fansville' commercial where many college football fans believe Ewers poked fun at backup quarterback Arch Manning.

"Deputy Ewers, quick, call for backup," the commercial began. "Backup? We don't need any backup, I got this," Ewers responded.

While many fans would have already assumed Ewers was trolling Manning, he makes it more clear further into the commercial. "Look, we don't need any backup, even if he has great hair and famous relatives," Ewers said.

Here's a look at the full commercial below.

Contrary to the commercial, Ewers and Manning are close teammates and competitors on the field. The duo makes up one of the top quarterback rooms in the country and Texas fans will likely witness both receive snaps in Week 1.
