ESPN SP+ Computer Model Predicts Outcome Of Every Week 1 College Football Game

Fans got a taste of college football this past weekend with Week Zero, but the real start to the season begins throughout this week.

We are just a few days from college football really ramping up, and on Monday, we finally received ESPN's SP+ predictions for every Week 1 game.

ESPN's Bill Connelly created the model in 2008, and it projects who will win using a formula based on tempo and opponent-adjusted measures of each college football team's efficiency.

Week 1 is headlined by games such as No. 14 Clemson vs. No. 1 Georgia, No. 7 Notre Dame vs. No. 20 Texas A&M and Deion Sanders' Colorado squad taking on FCS power North Dakota State.

It is worth noting that the model has one particular upset that would really shake up the week, which is Florida pulling off a stunner against No. 19 Miami.

Some other notable results from the model include:

    Georgia 36, Clemson 20

    Notre Dame 29, Texas A&M 27

    LSU 41, USC 31

Like anything in life, the model isn't always 100% correct, but it is quite a good gauge to determine how close games may be despite initial thoughts from fans and analysts. Whatever happens over the next few days, college football fans love that their favorite sport is back.
