Michigan football's offensive line is shaping up as the team prepares for the upcoming season. Head coach Sherrone Moore highlighted the depth and competition within the unit during a recent media session.

The starting lineup appears to be solidifying, with Myles Hinton at left tackle, Josh Priebe at left guard, and Giovanni El-Hadi at right guard.

Hinton and Priebe have long been expected to anchor the left side, while El-Hadi has recently emerged as the top choice for the right guard position.

Raheem Anderson, a graduate student from Detroit Cass Tech, is expected to back up El-Hadi. Initially considered for the starting center role, Anderson's versatility is proving valuable as the coaching staff opts to utilize him at guard instead.

With Anderson seemingly out of the center competition, seniors Greg Crippen and Dominick Giudice are vying for the starting spot. Crippen was previously viewed as the likely successor to Drake Nugent, but Giudice is making a strong push for the position.

"Right now, at center, we've got a couple guys," Moore said . "We've got Dom Giudice, Greg Crippen and Raheem Anderson. Right now, there's still competition, so we'll see who does it. I think Crippen and Dom have been the top two in camp so far, so we'll see how they compete this week."

At right tackle, redshirt freshman Evan Link is competing with Andrew Gentry for the starting role, while graduate student Jeff Persi was notably absent from the discussion.

Moore emphasized the importance of adaptability among players, noting that understanding the playbook and being able to play multiple positions will be crucial as the team narrows down its best five offensive linemen.

"I think, just, one, from a knowledge of the playbook standpoint, knowing what to do and how to do it. Both have the talent, both have the ability, but the toughness, the mental toughness to withstand all the strain and as you go through camp with different things happening, you've got to be flexible.

"Play right, play left, play center, play guard, and be one of the best five, because that's all we're gonna do is try to find the best five."

As the season approaches, the competition within the offensive line remains fierce, and the Wolverines are focused on building a strong foundation for their running game.
