Creed Humphrey In 'Perfect Situation' With Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humphrey has had about as perfect a start to an NFL career as a player can have.

In his three years in the league, Creed has already won two Super Bowls and is a two-time Pro Bowler, and now, he has a shiny four-year, $72 million contract which keeps him in Kansas City for the foreseeable future.

For the first time since his extension, Humphrey spoke to the media and revealed why he signed to stay on with the defending Super Bowl champions.

“I'm in the perfect situation for me,” Humphrey said . “I'm playing in a place that I get to call home, and it's been awesome to call home the past four years, and I've really enjoyed it, so getting this opportunity is awesome.”

Humphrey has developed into one of, if not the best, center in football, and he has been a big reason for the offense's success over the last three seasons.

Posting PFF grades of 78.2 (2023), 90.0 (2022), and 91.4 (2021) since entering the league, Creed is without doubt one of the best centers in the game. Of course, it helps when you have a quarterback like Patrick Mahomes and a play-caller like Andy Reid.

“Just the guys around, coaching staff, everything is top-notch here,” Humphrey added on why he re-signed with the Chiefs. “Obviously, getting to play with Pat [Mahomes], things like that, just this whole situation is perfect for me. So I'm really happy to be here.”

With Humphrey now sticking around for the foreseeable future and Mahomes having his center locked away, attention can now turn to claiming three straight Super Bowls for the first time in NFL history.

And Creed will be leading the way.
