Romanian gymnast Sabrina Voinea made headlines again recently amid the high-profile Jordan Chiles bronze medal controversy. This was after her camp successfully filed a formal appeal with the Swiss Federal Tribunal on Monday concerning her final score in the floor exercise final of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Voinea finished fourth in the final standing behind Romanian teammate Ana Barbosu, who has now been deemed the rightful winner of the bronze medal after it was stripped from Chiles.

Voinea and Barbosu finished with the same final score of 13.700, but it was the latter who was ranked higher after a tie-breaker (higher execution score). Chiles, on the other hand, fell to fifth after her initial appeal was reversed, which led to her final score falling to 13.666.

The argument from Voinea's camp is that she should not have received a deduction of 0.100 points for stepping out of bounds during her routine. Her team presented video evidence supposedly proving that the 17-year-old, in fact, remained inside the mat, and that the tenth of a point should be reinstated. If this were the case, Voinea would move up to third above Barbosu.

On Monday, Voinea's father, took to Facebook to share a strong message amid what Voinea's camp considers to be a milestone in their quest for justice.

"❤️💪🇷🇴INVICTUS 💪❤️🇷🇴🇷🇴" he captioned his post, which in English translates to "undefeated."

Sabrina's father made his one-word statement while sharing a press release issued by Asociația Junior Sport president Beatrice Mercado announcing the status of the appeal with the Swiss Federal Tribunal.

It is clear that Voinea's camp is adamant that this saga is not over and that justice will eventually be served. In their minds, the only happy ending here is if Sabrina gets her hands on that bronze medal.
