The Houston Texans are parting ways with former top-10 NFL Draft pick C.J. Henderson according to NFL insider Aaron Wilson.

Henderson was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the ninth overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft.

His rookie season saw him record 36 tackles, 6 pass deflections, 1 interception, and 1 forced fumble. However, a groin injury limited him to just eight games.

The following year, he was traded to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for tight end Dan Arnold and a 2022 third-round pick, having played only two games with the Jaguars.

In Carolina, Henderson started ten games and added 2 interceptions and another forced fumble to his resume in 2022.

In 2023 with the Panthers, he was less notable, failing to record an interception or forced fumble and only started 7 games.

Despite a promising start, Henderson struggled to maintain his form and consistency.

Henderson joined the Houston Texans in March 2024 but like the Jaguars and Panthers, has not found success them either.

Despite these challenges, teams are likely to give the former All-SEC standout from the Florida Gators another chance to showcase his potential and regain his past success.
